I wonder if this years woods will be as vibrant and plentiful as 2013

This year there seems to be an abundance of blue, the colour and smell was just amazing.

In addition to the sight, the sound of buzzing bees collecting pollen and twittering birds telling me what a great day it was seemed heavenly.

These shots were taken in a local woodland close to my home.

As well as the usual Bluebell photos I tried out a couple of techniques for a bit of artiness.

 What do you think?

Tattershall Castle 1940's Day http://susanguyphotography.zenfolio.com/blog/2012/10/tattershall-castle-1940s-day

June 2012
The drive to Tattershall Castle, Lincolnshire was rather rainy and the forecast was for more rain. This beautiful castle and quaint gift shop is run by the National Trust.
A 1940's event was being held with stalls selling vintage clothing, Susan Guy Photography, a craft area for kids for make jubilee windmills and flags and a live band.

Special guest appearance of the man himself? Sir Winston Churchall

The photobooth was erected in a lovely alcove with stunning stained glass window.

The rain continued most of the morning with a slight lull over lunch. It stopped just enough for a few visitors to do a spot of dancing and singing in the rain with The Big Swing Band providing some fantastic music.

Lots of fun was had as clients to the photobooth dressed up in hats, feather boas and army jackets borrowed from a lovely couple on a nearby stall. Moustaches, lips on sticks, a pipe and a vintage frame were great accessories.

Heavy rain was a feature of the afternoon and by the time people were going home the castle had a new little moat of rainwater.

Souvenir photo from the day

Blooming Great British Vintage Tea Party - Jubilee Special http://susanguyphotography.zenfolio.com/blog/2012/9/blooming-great-british-vintage-tea-party---jubilee-special 27.05.12
The sun was shining as I set off to Woodhouse Eaves, Leicestershire, for The Blooming Great British Vintage Tea Party, Jubilee special. I packed my camera, backdrop, props and photo booth for an afternoon of tea, cakes and vintage fun. Music was provided by
Ashby Big Band with Lady Ella on vocals, Burlesque dancing from Darkteaser and Jive lessons with Lin Mason, Pin Curls and Pompadours styled hair plus lots of lovely vintage goodies for sale. The event was superbly organised by Louisa Darling.

Susan Guy Photography had an outing with the photo booth.
Pick a prop from a selection of glasses, hats, gloves, bags and jackets, then strike a pose in the photo booth.

Several shots were taken and the client selected which to print, waited a couple of minutes for printing and took home their photo with Jubilee inspired border.

Details of where to locate alternative or additional copies are shown on the photo.

A spiffing reminder of a simply splendid afternoon
